Girl power...
It looks like Kaitlyn has discovered her right hand... err, fist. Yep, she's starting to recognize that she has *some* control over her limbs, although she's only playing with her right fist at this point. It's pretty comical. Whenever she is playing on her back or getting changed, she eventually raises that right fist and just stares at it for minutes at a time. Its gotten to the point where she points her fist up in the air in defiance every time we try and take cute pictures of her! We can try and put the fist back down, but it goes right back up after we let go. I guess this also means that Kaitlyn will be right-handed. =)
Other than her fist, Kaitlyn is in a really cute stage. She's starting to respond to our voices with a string of coos and gives us her beautiful smile after our cooing conversations. Kristen and I are having a blast bonding with Kaitlyn during our time off (we both have three weeks before we're back to work). Kaitlyn is also having numerous photo sessions, and we've taken over one thousand five hundred (that's 1500) pictures of our precious daughter.
And no, we don't think we're nuts. Kristen just needs to go back to work. Hey, it's better than the hundreds of pictures of Chase Kristen's already taken. =)

WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Kristen and I were really tired by the end of the evening today and Kaitlyn started to cry once again for whatever reason it happen to be at the time. Kristen and I just looked at each other wondering if the other was going to do something about it. Kaitlyn got to her screaming cry in what seemed like a matter of just seconds and being a little more tired than usual, I lost it...
I squeezed my eyes closed and yelled toward the ceiling, "WAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! WAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! WAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!" I cried in sympathy in my screaming voice. Afterwards, I opened my eyes to find Kristen staring at both Kaitlyn and me trying to hold in a chuckle. I suddenly realized that it was very quiet. What happened to the crying? I looked at Kaitlyn and there she was, staring at me like I was nuts. It was like she said, "What are you screaming at? I'm the one in pain here!"
The crying did finally start up again, but not after Kaitlyn stared at us a little while longer... while Kristen and I had a good laugh at our baby's expense.

75th Percentile...
Kaitlyn went for her two month well baby check up last week and it turns out she is growing like a weed. Kaitlyn weighed in at a whopping 11 pounds 12 ounces and was 23 inches long. This puts her at the 75th percentile for both height and weight which is up from the 50th percentile she started at. You just gotta love her chubby cheeks and triple chin. =)
On another note we are proud to report that we survived Kaitlyn's first round of immunizations. Even though Kaitlyn was the one receiving the shots I think it was just as traumatizing for us parents. I don't know which was worse...me having to be the one to hold Kaitlyn while she screamed or Kristen having to watch the whole thing. Here's how it went: Kaitlyn was peacefully sleeping on my lap when the nurse jabbed the first shot into Kaitlyn's thigh and instantly Kaitlyn let out the loudest scream/cry that we've heard come out of her mouth yet. The needle was as long as Kaitlyn's leg is wide! Just as Kaitlyn was calming down the nurse jabbed the second shot into her other leg followed by a third shot. Poor baby never knew what hit her. =( And to think we get to do this all over again at her four month check up. Yay.
On a lighter note, Kaitlyn continues to surprise us and develop every day. She has been receiving a lot of tummy time lately and is now able to roll from her tummy to her back. She is now working on rolling from her back to her stomach but tends to get stuck on her side at which point she has a fit. Along with cooing Kaitlyn occasionally lets out a squeal or a laugh. Baby K also has longer stretches of awake and sleep time. She still wakes up to eat once during most nights however we've been lucky enough to have a few nights of 6-7 hours of straight sleep. Woohoo (well for Kristen at least)!!!
Kaitlyn also is turning into quite the little traveler. We can pretty much count on her sleeping through all our outings. Most recently she traveled to Palo Alto for her cousin Jenaya's red egg and ginger party. She slept the whole way there and all through the meal and reluctantly woke up to socialize only after we bugged her. It seems like as long as Kaitlyn is fed and dry she's as happy as can be. Everyone couldn't believe how good she was. The downfall to this is that Kaitlyn slept so much that she didn't go to bed until 2 o'clock that night and only slept a total of five hours. She was cooing and playing on her tummy all night long it seemed.
This next week should be a little less hectic... more to come as always. =)
